It feels like it is April!!! The snow is melting, around my area it's almost gone. This does not make me happy because I love snow. By the way things are going we won't have any snow for Christmas. I would really hate that if that would happen, but it won't stop me from haveing a nice time.
The snow is melting during the day, because it is warm. Today it got up to 7°C! That is very warm for this time of year. That is like weather you would expect in early spring.
Another thing is... that it's warm during the day, and there is lots of water, and is very damp, but during the night it gets cold, below freezing, and then all of the water freezes. This makes it slippery in some places.
Anyway, I hope that we get snow sometime soon again, but it does not look like it, according to the Weathern Network (Canada), and their Ottawa Forecast. Also if you look at the 14 day outlook, the weather looks quite warm, although the chart changes a lot. I hope that it changes and gets colder!!!
Here are some pics of the very little bit of snow in our backyard.
This is a picture (a horrible one- sorry) of my backyard. The snow is all wet and melting very fast, and completely gone in some places.
Another photo (a bit better) of my backyard, with only patches of snow.
So that's my little photo post for tonight. I do hope we get some more snow soon! I wish we were living somewhere like Wisconsin, or Alberta where there was lots of snow... like this, or this. We live in Canada... we don't get enough snow, and we get tooo much heat- like in the summer when it gets to a deadly 45°C. All I can say is... I hope for more snow!!!
This weblog was meant to be a Photoblog, and a Personal weblog. Since there is not too much going on with me, I will be also using this site as a site to talk about any random things on the internet, including tech stuff, web development, and that other geeky stuff.
I will still be posting personal stuff, frequently, as well as my Photography. When the snow comes back (It all melted) and it becomes more wintery, I will be taking scenic photography, since that is the only photography I'm any good at (example). My other site Shanebellinger.com will serve as more of a tech site than anything. I do post the random personal post, but it's mostly all geeky stuff over there. It's also where I offer my free templates, and web tutorials.
That's about it!
I can't believe what I just did!! I accidentally deleted the WordPress database for my site Shanebellinger.com!!! I am so angry about this. I'm talking to my webhost's tech support right now, and they might be able to restore the database for me. I would be sooo relieved if they could. If they can't than I will have to import all my posts from my old WordPress.com blog to shanebellinger.com and just start over from there... But I really hope to get things back to normal.
Updates: Here is what's going on with Shanebellinger.com.
I just thought I'd post this little message to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We're having our big party tomorrow, Christmas Eve. It's hard to believe that Christmas is already here! Outside, it does not look like Christmas, the grass is still very green and there is NO SNOW!!! I know for sure that we will not get any snow this Christmas. That's perfectly alright, though. I will still have a good time.
Today and yesterday was very busy. The Stores were jammed full of people, and it's even worse today. We finished up decorating our house, inside and out for the party tomorrow. Here are some pics I took:
The Stairs wrapped in lights and guarland.
A Santa Ornament in a little vase compartment at the entry way.
The Arched doorway leading to the entry from our Formal Living Room.
Our Decorated fireplace in our Family Room
The Christmas tree through the French Doors of our Study.
That's about all of the pictures for now. Have a Wonderful Christmas!
~Shane.
Today is the day of our Big Christmas Party! I am so happy. Here are a few pictures of our house all ready for the guests to come tonight.
This is our Turkey...
The Green Lawn... On Christmas eve!! No Snow- grrrr
The Family room all clean and ready for the Guests Tonight.
The Formal Living Room, behind the Stairs, all decorated!
There, our house is all ready for tonight... I think. I'm going to be taking lots of pics tonight, and I will be posting them on this blog post tonight, or maybe tomorrow. It's still another two hours until the party.
That's about it for now. I will be sure to take more pictures, and post them. Have A Merry Christmas!
More on it's way after the party...
It is finally Christmas day! We just finished opening all of the presents. We had so much presents! Last night and this morining! I am very satisfied with all of the gift I got. I got so much. I really do like them all.
Last night, the Christmas Eve party was really fun. Everyone was there, and the turkey, all the food and desserts was really good. I will be posting pictures of our night last night a little bit later, when I get all of my pictures (almost 200!) on my computer I will post a few of them on this post.
I had a great Christmas this year. We still have today! It's not over yet!
Next, we have New Years. We are going to Chelsea, Quebec to my Aunt and Uncle's house for New Years eve. I am also really looking forward to that! It will be a really late night for us! I think it will be really fun. I will be taking some more wildlife pictures like I did back in July.
I am very excited for New Years, and I had a great Christmas, and I hope that all of you did to!
Pictures Coming soon!
Soon, I'm going to get rid of this Holiday theme, and save it for next year. I'm trying to think of a new simple design to make. I need to fix up some things around the site. I also need to fix a few entries, because the Comments Link at the bottom of the posts don't work. It's only on some of the posts.
I really don't know what I should do for the re design, though. I wonder if it should be really basic and simple, simmilar to this, of something entirely new. I want to have a new design up by New years. I'm probably just going to get rid of the red and green Christmas Background for now, and make it just a wintery background. I will do something nicer for Spring.
That's it! Your opinions are appriciated.
Update: 12:07 PM: I've started the redesign live. It will be a wintery theme, featuring a lot of snow, or ice. I'm hopefully going to be done today.
Update: 12:36 PM: That was fast! I re designed by site, just by changing around the background images, and editing the stylesheet. I really like this design. It's a wintery theme. I will keep it like this probably until March, and then I will do a spring design.
On Shanebellinger.com, I've written two blogging tutorials. One tutorial was The installation of WordPress using Cpanel, and the other was What's a blog, and why do we blog. In that one I named a few reasons why people blogged, and I talked a bit about the different blogging platforms, and different tools you could use to blog. I also gave out links to good webhosting plans for blogs.
I'm going to be focusing on blogging probably for the next few days. Hopefully it will help out some people, and attract more readers to my site.
You should take a look.
Today is the final day of 2006. This year just flew by so fast! It was a good year, and hopefully 2007 will be too. It's just hours away from becoming a new year! We're going up to Chelsea, Quebec for this years new year. I'm also going to be taking more photos. It's really exciting.
We're going to the party around 5:00 tonight. I think it will be a really good party. We're supposed to be getting a little bit of snow tonight, too, which I'm very happy about. We already have snow on the ground. It was snowing yesterday and the day before. I wish that we had gotten snow on Christmas. At least we'll have snow tonight, on New Years Eve. I'll be taking more photos and posting them.
That's all for now! I'll be back in 2007!
